WordPress Website Redesign

Their previous site had usability issues and was outdated by current trends and standard capabilities of websites today - in 2020. It had not been updated since 2009, so this project was a complete site redesign.

First Step: Analysis of previous site. Researching the business and identifying website pages needed for their business to grow and function.

Second Step: Gathering and creation of old and new website content and graphics.

Third Step: Site Creation. Selecting a WordPress theme, designing a site style guide and customizing the site.

Fourth Step: Teaching client how to use WordPress so they understand how to update it, thus have full control of content.

Final: Public Launch.

The new site focused on brightening up the site and provided more information (as you scroll down the page) than the static graphic on the original site.

The header image is a gif on the new site which provides movement and a sense of flair to align with the studio's culture.

Classes page updates involved posting social media images to their classes page

On the original site they added updates through posting images of posts they made on social media. They now understand how to make in-page text content updates. With Covid, there is also a menu option in the top navigation menu to call attention to Covid related news specifically.

Contact Us Page:

This page combined two pages from the original site into one. Booking both classes and performers for events by messaging through one form on the site.

This also involved updating the Google Maps plugin so it would load with the page. The original site was no longer showing the full map, only the red pin on the page.
